Completing a Recommendation

If you have been asked to complete a recommendation for a student, please review the following details:
  • Students are asked to request your permission prior to you receiving a request to complete a recommendation on their behalf.
  • When the student requests your permission, they will obtain your email address to ensure that the recommendation is sent directly to you. You will receive it from awards@nscc.ca.
  • Once the student reaches out to you, you may want to assess whether you are the appropriate individual to serve as a recommender for the award the student is applying for. You can preview the recommendation categories below and the questions that will be asked of you as a recommender for that category. If you do not believe that you are the appropriate individual to serve as a recommender for an award, please let the student know in a timely fashion so they may seek a recommendation from someone else.
  • Please let the student know once you have completed the form as this does not happen automatically.
  • Recommendations are not accepted from family members, friends, or peers.

Completing the Recommendation Form

You will receive an email at the address you provided the student from awards@nscc.ca requesting the recommendation.
